can anyone explain why the wts claims that faithful dubs will be resurrected soon after armageddon when to the contrary the book of revelation plainly states that the resurrection of anyone other than the saints will occur after 1000 years?

that is 1000 years after the saints begin ruling on earth which will occur at or shortly before armageddon.

let's remember that rightly or wrongly most dubs do not believe that they are in the class of the saints or anointed as they call them.

Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron, Thou shalt shatter them like earthenware" (Psalm 2:7-9).

YHWH said this to either David or Solomon take and of course Jesus fullfilled it! but it started with David who probably did not realize it was going to be about Jesus.

heck, if hubby asks me to study, you guys get to study along with me, too.

this week we are studying the first paragraphs of chapter 22, "the first woe - locusts" from the study book, "revelation, it's grand climax at hand".

i can't pass paragraph six without commenting.. first of all, here's the paragraph in its entirety.

And that is why I am not a JDUB, when I read that Revelation book and they claimed Jesus was Michael, another angel, and strong angel. Let us just add a fallen angel from heavens!

Jesus never fail from heavens! He is King of Kings of everything! He was given power to give anyone he wants the keys, including Peter. So who really knows why this angel has the keys to open up the abyss. I going to assume it was Jesus who gave the angel a key, because Jesus was made higher than the angels.

On the flip side, a JDUB will say that Jesus can do what he wants meaning taking on other forms! Now does that make any sense that Jesus would need to take on an angelic form?

They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

I was just wondering, how long does this second death last? I think of death it is no more, but it say tormented day and night for ever and ever! Are the Jehovah Witness right? How long is for ever and ever? I am thinking probably until the rest of the dead are judged and it is the second death! Is that a firery type place! It is late and I cant spell abyss!

Will God put people into a fiery abyss to be tormented forever and ever? How long does the second death last?

Just wanted to see what you all had to say!

I think I assumed that people were ressurrected on the earth but how can that be when it says Earth and Sky are no more! so if the dead are standing before the throne is this in heavens pre New Earth! but what about the holy city! OH boy I need to read this again, and again! that is how Revelation is one can read it and read it and learn something new!

So we are talking about one big event with mixed participants and it takes place at the beginning not at the end of Christ’s return as some teach.

One big event or several events during the 1000 years, however one resurrection is after the thousand years; one during the end of the thousand years. One to rewards ( like me I will be at that one with Daniels and other faithfull rightoues like people because the second death will not before the first resurrections.) The other are all the rest who will be raised up under the oceans and under the earth, those are the ones who will be judge after the 1000 years for a final death were the false prophets will be WTBTS, Mormons, and SDA and anyone else who become a false prophets will be tormented!

At least people have the right to look at Revelations and see which one they believe, because NO ONE REALLY KNOWS. You JosephMalik are arrogant and think that your way of thinking is the only way, very closed minded to see other viewpoints!

It's All good just different veiwpoints! I do not embrace typical WTBTS or churches views! It does say at the end of the 1,000 years! and you can quote NT and try to apply it to Revelation all you want! but those verses do not give a time period of resurrections just explains how and what to expect, but not the when.

Also, everyone knows that even Revelations if not in any order by chapters! but all of our minds want to fit it there nice and neat! Most churches and commentaries want to do that as well!

Some question about the dubs

i've been out of the dubs for 21 years so i need some info.

a) when did the wts reduce the publisher time requirement to 15 minutes per month and what was the minimum time before the change?.

b) when a jw gets over 15 min/month do the elders send the society a publisher card?

c) I try to answer this one! There was a WT in 2004 suggesting that we were in the 90 years of preaching work just like when Noah went into the Ark. 1914 + 90years= 2004

Noahs started building the Ark and it took him 120 years of preaching about the flood, people did not pay attention, so 120-90 our days of preaching= 30 years left for modernd day preaching work. Are you glad we are into the 90 years of preaching? 2004 + 30= 2034. However they did not come out and say armageddon is coming in 2034, one could use inferences. They just said are you glad we are into 90 years of preaching just like Noah's days! We can all do the math and assume like Noah's days when the flood came after the 120 years of his preaching and building the Ark, so will it be for the Jehovahs Witness after 120 years of preaching and warning of Jesus Christ invisible prsences, Armageddon time in 2034!

I believe it was a WT in 2004 if not then 2005 I forgot the date! Goes to show you how important it was! for me. :-)

I can not explain why the WTBTS make their claim to the first resurrection are the 144,000. I think they put Revelation 19:14 "The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine lined, white and clean." with Rev 19:7 "Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory for the wedding of the lamb has come and his bride(144,000) has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright and clean was given her to wear. with Revelation 20:4 "I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. (No proof that this is just the 144,00) And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God." They had not worshiped the beast of his image and had not received his mark on their forehead or their hand. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years."

I do not read that the 144,000 are given authority to judge! Jesus told his apostles that they would be given thrones to judge the twelve tribes of Israel. Also, the souls who were beheaded for their testimony about Jesus were part of the first resurrected! who will not worry about a second death. Where are they resurrected? I believe this is an earthly seen and not heavenly! and they will not have to worry about the second death. They are actually setting up nations for God. Just like the book of Ezekiel around 40.

I think the Jehovah's Witnesses think their 144,000 and are given the thrones to judge and they will be in heaven to do this judgment. during the first resurrection. That does not make sense to me!

Your question is not about the first resurrection! smile! Your is about Revelation 20:5 the bible I have in front of me states " (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) but during the thousand years is the first resurrection only!

Revelation 20:7 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corner of the earth Gog of Magog. 9 says they marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp! the city he loves.

What camp and where? I believe this ties in with the earthly Jerusalem from the end of Ezekiel. It really is not a spiritual Israelite class like WTBTS teaches! When the thousand years is over the second resurrection, in Revelation 21:11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it ...standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.

I believe the JDUBS says that these dead are not alive! they are still in the grave! being judged! Anyhow that is how someone explained it to me. After all why would Jehovah resurrect people just to kill them again! Why would Jesus and Jehovah resurrected people who all are saved for the salvation of Christ! a big myth!

According to the WTBTS the first resurrection is for the living 144,000 who go to heaven, and the second one is for the dead to be judged for the deeds they did such as Did you except the WTBTS as your faithful slave class from the pen of the man with the secretary inkhorn (just a joke but true.) They really do think they are judging people to rightouesness or off to jugement with Jesus which is the second death! err!

I do not believe that one! I think that in the second resurrection the dead will be alive standing before Jesus to be judged to life according to Revelation 20:5 or second death, lake of fire. Unlike the first resurrection saints who were beheaded or gave the testimony of Christ ( :-) and the ones who are to seat on the thrones 12 tribes who was given authority to judge the Iseralites.

I think that Rutherford and Russell knew that the first resurrected were the once who were going to wake to rewards like Daniel, spiritual class not a real Israelite class. and the second are for the ones who will receive a second death. earthly class.

The question you should really ask if you were raised as a JDUB is which resurrection do you belong? I think that people who wash there robes in the blood of Christ are part of the continuing group of the saints and number of 144,000 and the great crowd part of the testimony of Christ and will be wake to rewards! But only the 12 Jesus promised to be judges sitting on the thrones all still very much an earthly prophecy! And we are not in the thousand year reign yet. LOL

You know that article in the 1934 was kind of strange, "New Covenant" So the Jewish people are not part of the New Covenant it unscriptural! I think I read enough!

There are plenty of disturbing scriptures. Sweetstuff's Judges 19 has certainly got to be up there as one of the worst. Slightly disturbing, but more totally irrational is the following -
Noah, a man of the soil, was the first to plant a vineyard. He drank some of the wine and became drunk, and he lay uncovered in his tent. And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside. Then Shem and Japheth took a garment, laid it on both their shoulders, and walked backward and covered the nakedness of their father; their faces were turned away, and they did not see their father's nakedness. When Noah awoke from his wine and knew what his youngest son had done to him, he said, "Cursed be Canaan; lowest of slaves shall he be to his brothers." He also said, "Blessed by the Lord my God be Shem; and let Canaan be his slave. May God make space for Japheth, and let him live in the tents of Shem; and let Canaan be his slave." (Genesis 9:20-27 NRSV)
What on earth is that all about? Noah goes on a bender, strips off and crashes on his bed. Ham pops into his tent and sees his father spreadeagled and showing off his family jewels, so he tiptoes out and tells his brothers. They in turn walk backwards (LOL) into Noah's tent and cover him up. Noah wakes up with a steaming hangover and after having a big strop condemns poor old Canaan to a life of slavery.
Go figure.

Some say Nakedness met intercourse. That would give Noah reason to curse someone!
